A pronounced array of traditional shweshwe patterns in royal blue, madder and gold against a white backdrop, this refined pure cotton tablecloth reflects the essence of Jerimani's Sejerane Range.
Made in Johannesburg. Designed for London.
Our story: each Jerimani creation is uniquely hand-made with care and precision. The Jerimani Sejeremane range began with Thambo's vision to bring the vibrance and warmth of the Southern African dining table to the homes of London. This iteration of the range brings together royalty, North and South. The fabric bears colours of the Royal Standard, the flag of British royals, arranged in a pattern resemblant of the Basotho king to whom the fabric was originally gifted.
The shweshwe fabric, hand-selected from markets in both Johannesburg and Harare, is manufactured using acid discharge and a copper roller printing technique on pure cotton calico. The intricate designs are created using 'picotage', a pinning fabric printing technique rarely used in contemporary fabric design due to its complexity and expense. The result is unique patterns across each piece of fabric. Each table cloth is sewn by hand in Thambo's central Johannesburg workshop by her wonderful family, under her experienced guidance and focus on exceptional quality, before making its way to London and beyond.
